Jalen Hurts played a full game in London on a confirmed blood clot that the Eagles cleared because they believed activity would help, and eight days later it had spread to both lungs and ended his season. Sam says the blame doesn't stop at team doctors and Nick Sirianni's non-answers at the podium, it extends to an NFLPA that stayed silent while Hurts pays union dues for exactly this kind of protection, and to a football culture that treats a doctor's clearance as a dare.
He also goes after the loudest reactions to the story, Stephen A. Smith pushing Hurts to be more forthcoming and Michael Robinson's hedge-everything take on NFL Network, for making the moment about themselves instead of the quarterback living through it. Somewhere in a nearly two-hour stream, Deion Sanders' record at Colorado and a Hot 97 shakeup get the same treatment.
The takes
- Football's culture trains players to hide pain and treat toughness as proof of worth, and players whose bodies fail them get called injury prone, weak, or soft, sometimes by their own teammates.
- Michael Robinson's NFL Network take doesn't hold up because he hedges every sentence with "I'm not a doctor" while still building a diagnosis off a Google AI summary.
- Stephen A. Smith wants Hurts to be more forthcoming, but he never applied that same standard when Michael Strahan didn't press Chris Johnson about football's role in his health.
- The NFLPA's silence through this story proves it's the weakest union in all sports, and that silence is why fully guaranteed money stays rare outside a handful of quarterbacks.
- Sirianni's line that the Eagles always put players' health first can't survive the team's own timeline: they cleared Hurts to fly and play with a confirmed clot because they believed activity would help him.
- Deion Sanders' act works at an HBCU that's happy to have him, but Boulder expects wins, not swagger, and his record there hasn't backed up the bluster.
- Hot 97's Mero and his co-host are blaming management for problems built into terrestrial radio itself, a medium they chose to sign with even though it's already dead.

Okay, okay, okay. There's a lot to get into. I see you in the chat. There is a lot going on. Yes, there is a lot of stuff we need to worry about when it comes to Jalen Hurts. Yes, prayers up to Jalen Hurts. We want to make sure that the man is healthy.
Despite what we what you may think of him as a quarterback, despite what you may think of him in terms of a player and all that stuff, this supersedes all of that. This is about the health of a human being. So salute and prayers up for Jalen Hurts And yes, this is death threatening. We don't worry about spell check over here, but yes, this is death threatening. Ultimately what this comes down to is as I put in the thumbnail, this is medical malpractice. What the Philadelphia Eagles were able to get off. in the attempts to win a football game, I think, is akin to medical malpractice.
Now that is legalese and that could be stuffed right there. So we'll say allegedly. So we put that out there. Allegedly, I think this is problematic to the tune of medical malpractice. But if you don't know what has happened, let's go ahead and jump right into the screen. Y'all know what we do here. We don't waste any of your time because your time is precious.
Jalen Hurts out for the season after doctors discovered multiple, that's the key thing there, multiple blood clots in his lungs. Okay So there is a lot to dissect with the story. We're just going to jump through it all. All right. Let's try to break it all down in real time. Okay, from a football standpoint, this is courtesy of Ian Rapoport Jalen Hurts should be able to recover after three months of treatment. The blood clot was quote provoked, end quote, which means there was a cause.
dot dot dot getting cleated in his calf so that has been talked about about the cleating in his calf and how that was affecting him that made it so he could not play This past Sunday because of the uh blood clot in the calf but now the blood clots have spread to other parts of his body not just in the calf including his lungs and that's why we have the situation that's been placed in front of us to where the man has to sit down for not only this season, but potentially worst case scenario for the rest of his career. So Again, we're just going through all the stuff, right? Okay. So if we want to really want to get into it, Jalen Hurts was told by doctors not to sleep after his initial diagnosis of a superficial blood clot while in London Because they went over there to London, they played the Jaguars, and while he was out there in London, they discovered the blood clot. A superficial blood clot. We'll get into that in Michael Robinson and all the stuff that he has said, but we'll get into that Hurts stayed awake for roughly thirty-six hours before starting against the Jaguars. So you understand.
Now this is a doctor's opinion, or at least a doctor that's verified on the Elon app, make of that what you will. They told Jalen Hurts not to sleep Yet they still let him play. So stay up for 36 hours and then go play a football game. And not just any old football game, a high profile football game against the Jaguars over there in London. Okay. Why can't Jalen Hurts play on blood thinners and how long could the treatment last? There is a lot to go on.
Again, everyone's pretending to be a doctor, so Take of this what you will. There are some people that are trying to make this vaccine related. We're ignoring all of that nonsense, including a man, Fraud A. Smith, who was insinuating some stuff. I have that sound, we'll get to it. Okay, so this is a couple of doctors, the athletic, aka the New York Times. They reached out and got some quotes from actual doctors or a former team physician who is a doctor.
Oftentimes people are on a period are on a period of anti-collagulation for a few weeks, and as long as the clot is resolving, then you come off the blood thinners. It can never have to be on them again. Okay, this is a from a Seattle Seahawks former team physician. The physician continued, if it happens multiple times, then some people have to be on lifetime anti-collagulation Okay, so this can be a temporary thing or this could be a long-term thing. It all depends on how Jalen Hurts's body reacts to the medicine and the treatment. And then we have the statement from you know Jalen Hurts's agent, who has become a pillar in the community because of the work that she has done, not just with Jalen Hurts, but others, but kicking off with Jalen Hurts especially This statement is very you know you could read it here if you want to take a screenshot and do all that stuff you can but it's basically breaking down the course of events is somewhat a part of the timeline But the main thing here is this last paragraph. Jalen 's prognosis is very good and we expect a full recovery.
Okay, so that's the main thing. That's the good part, right? Here's the issue. When it comes to football, there is a lot of talk in regards to football and war. Football in military. There is very much a militaristic POV when it comes to football. You're supposed to attack your opponent, kill your opponent, bash your opponent.
You're supposed to sacrifice yourself for the others, your teammates are your brothers, we're family, all the innuendo and talking points and narratives of pushing and making football militaristic. Including to having flyovers over game, American flag bunting everywhere, you know, uh you know, save our troops, protect our troops, and all that stuff, all that stuff that happens. That gets inundated into the world of football. There is a military uh overview, including what happened in San Antonio at at the college game. We won't touch that, but we know what happened there. that the military thing bled into a football game and a man lost his life. A soldier lost his life because of it.
There is this pressurized way of making football more than just a sport, making a military operation at times. Because of that, players often feel like they need to sacrifice themselves for the betterment of the team, for the betterment of the game, to be able to, you know, make yourself available. What's the what's the old word, the old adage The best ability is availability. So players will sacrifice themselves, shooting themselves up with painkillers, shooting themselves up with you know numbing agents, shooting themselves up with you know the fact that players are taking Um, what's it smelling salts and all that type of stuff to get themselves going? Adderall, up and up and uppers and downers, all the things that these athletes have to do, steroids, PEDs, all this with all the types of treatment 24-7 around the clock to put them by to put themselves and their bodies in a position to perform. And for those players whose bodies continuously fail them, we use that against them. We call them injury prone.
We call them weak. We call them soft. Sometimes their own teammates, sometimes their own colleagues call them weak and soft. So there's this culture around the sport of football that has players feeling like they have to do everything it takes to be able to perform. And that's why we have Jalen Hurts out here not sleeping for 36 hours. Stay awake for 36 hours so you could play a game of football against the Jacksonville Jaguars over in London. Now, if this were a normal home game or even a road game in the States domestic, would the pressure have been as such for Jalen Hurts to play?
If Jalen Hurts was at the crib and they were playing at the link, do you think they would have made him stay up for 36 hours at the crib? Or if they were down in Duval, do you think they would have made him stay up 36 hours on the road? But because this is a London game, because this league is trying to expand into Europe, they want to run back NFL Europe where they had teams in Frankfurt and elsewhere They want to run that back. They want to have a permanent regular season team in Europe. That's why we have all these exhibitions Knowing that, did the Eagles medical staff commit this alleged medical malpractice because they know this is a high profile event, not just for them, not just for the Jaguars, but for the entire league themselves. Did that play a factor? There is going to be a referendum of sorts with this stuff.
I don't know if I'll be alive to see it. But at some point in time, the hypocrisy has to get called out. At some point in time, the POVs of how people treat this sport and act within this sport and us As fans and voyeurs on the outside looking into this sport, at some point in time, there needs to be a referendum. I don't know if this is going to be the case. Because when you have Fraud A out here saying what he said, and let's just go ahead and get into that Fraud A. Smith reacting in live to the news of Jalen Hurts having blood clots in his lungs to the point that he will no longer be able to play this season Jalen Hurts is one of the classiest individuals you can ever encounter. Um he's an elite athlete um who obviously prides himself.
on taking great care of himself and his body. I don't know how this has happened. Um, you know, hopefully, you know, I pray for his good health first of all, first and foremost. But I hope that at some point in time, once he discovers how this happened, uh he's open and forthcoming about it so so many other people can be helped. Because uh you know, uh however s something like this happening, it's very odd. And I think that a lot of times when you know when you find yourself in these kind of precarious situations. I'll stop it right there.
What is he insinuating right there That is Vax Talk. If you're not aware, that's code for Vax. That is code for Vax Talk. Hopefully one day he is open up front About what caused this? Why is that your main concern, Fraude? Why is that your concern? You just went on an apology tour, not just for Lane Johnson, but prior to that, your other Apology tour after that was Kyrie Irving and you are reassessing your thoughts because of how hard you went on Kyrie because of all the vax talk.
Is this now a continuation of that? Are you now trying to imply that because of what happened to Jalen Hurts, this low-key could be related to taking the vex? And if you are insinuating that Frauday, what evidence do you have? I know you claim you still got ties out there in Philly because of your time out there, you know, covering the beat and being a newspaper reporter out there and a columnist out there Are you insinuating you have T? Are you insinuating you have information? Because that is a very damn instinct. Listen closely to what he's saying.
Listen very closely, read between the lines. That's what I try to do here. Because I've worked in media and I know how these people talk and know how these tastes get crafted. I'm trying to tell you this is what this man is trying to insinuate reading between the lines This is all the setup. He's an elite athlete. Um don't obviously disregard all of this. On taking great care of himself and his body.
I don't know how this has happened uh you know hopefully you know I I pray for his good health first of all, first and foremost. But I hope that at some point in time Once he discovers how this happened, uh he's open and forthcoming about it so so many other people can be helped. Okay, so what do you mean by that? What are you insinuating? Are you trying to insinuate that because Jalen Hurts, I'm assuming that means Jalen Hurts is vaxxed. I don't know. I don't care to know Are you insinuating that this is tied to the vaccine?
Are you insinuating that, oh, because Jalen Hurts had the vaxx and this happened to him? That others who are vaxxed need to be aware of this as a potential side effect or cause Do you understand how dangerous that is? As bad as it looked as it was for you going at Lane Johnson without having all the information. You literally just had to do an apology tour To apologize for what you did in terms of Lane Johnson where you jumped out the window with a take without understanding all the information. Now you're literally doing the same thing, albeit under the cloak of, I hope Jayla Hurts is forthcoming about what caused this. Why? Why does it matter?
Y'all absolved Michael Strahan from not asking Chris Johnson about how he contracted ALS. Why all of a sudden now does Jalen Hurts have to be so forthcoming about why he has blood clots in his lungs If it's okay for Michael Strahan to duck the smoke of asking a football player, a player he played against, a colleague, a luminary. If it's okay for him to be able to sit across from him where the man can only speak through blinking his eyes And we absolved him of having to ask the question of hey, did football do this to you? That was so egregious. People got at me in the comments for weeks for saying that's a bad job by straight hand. You have to ask that question Because this is directly tied to football. And there's been enough science and studies to prove that.
That's why you asked the question. This is different. This is making the assumption of, hey, blood collat, lungs. Was this because of the vax? And mind you, this man just came back from having dinner with Trump in them. So Fraud A fresh off having a meeting and a dinner with Trump and them is now coming back and on the public airwaves. He is openly assuming Or hoping that there's a connection.
Let me not say hoping. He is insinuating that there is a connection between Jalen Hurts. And getting cleated and having blood clots in his calf spreading to his lungs, he's insinuating that maybe kind of sorta that had to do with the vax So it's okay if Michael Straighthand doesn't ask Chris Johnson, CJ2K, why his body has turned against them at the age of 39 going into 40. It's okay that he's immobile. It's okay that he's hanging off for life. But Jalen Hurts, as young as he is, as strong and as athletic as he is, in the prime of his life, his athletic life. He needs to be forthcoming about how a blood clot from his calf has traveled all the way to his lungs.
That's y'all man 's. After having dinner with Trump, that's your man 's So the Michael Robinson part of this is even more damning because Michael Robinson He went on NFL Network, and this is prior to the uh the game this past weekend. He said a thing, the thing went viral. It went viral for all the wrong reasons, but it was a guy that He's paid there for his NFL player analysis. He is paid there to give the former player perspective. He is there Because y'all have allowed all these former players to give their opinions. Because y'all have allowed the notion that just because somebody played, that means that they can talk the game better.
than someone who is educated and trained in not just watching the game, but in the craft of talking about the game, which is journalism, broadcasting, etc. y'all have allowed all that to get thrown out the window. Y'all have prophesized, y'all have pumped up, y'all have propped up all these former athletes and given them credit just for playing a game. Even though we know tons of players who we would not want to see on a broadcast, but because there's a few that sneak through the cracks and whether it's accidentally or on purpose, actually be okay or serviceable or good That means the floodgate is opening now. Every network has to have multiple former players on deck. Whether they're qualified or not. Whether they're actually good with a microphone or not.
Whether they're actually good and know what the hell they're talking about. Or not, the instant credibility credibility of being a former athlete supersedes journalistic integrity, supersedes broadcasting ability, supersedes all of it. Y'all have did this. Every clip that y'all retweet. Every podcast that you subscribe to, every YouTube channel that you, you know, turn the bell on for notifications. Every time you do that, then sends a signal to these broadcasting companies that they did the right thing. So we'll get to Michael Robinson and his Assinai Take.
He got at uh Jalen Hurts and the narrative first was he was insinuating that Jalen Hurts was faking the injury That was the timeline doing its thing on that without listening to the whole clip. It's actually a lot deeper than that and even nastier than that if you listen to the clip in full, which I have for you right now. But it looked like they were trying to pin the outcome of this season on a Jalen Hurts just so that they can have an excuse later on to move on from Jalen Hurts. And again, I'm not saying I know nothing, guys, but If I'm just playing devil's advocate here and I'm thinking that way, if I'm Jalen Hurts or anybody in Jalen Hurts' camp, I'm saying, well, if everybody's hurt, I'm hurt too. Guys, I've been cleated before. And I'm not saying you know a superficial blood clot isn't serious. I'm not saying that, but I would advise every all of our viewers to go Google superficial blood clot as opposed to a real blood clot.
Now again, I'm not a medical guy. Okay, so he said we should Google superficial blood clot. Well guess what? I Googled superficial blood clot. And here is the definition. Let me make myself let me get myself off the screen. We'll read this together.
Superficial blood clots, medically known as superficial thrombolitis or superficial vein thrombus, SVT. That's a key term to learn in this whole thing with Jalen Hurts. SVT. Remember that term. There are blood clots that form in veins located just beneath the skin, typically in the legs or arms. So that tracks with the whole thing of Jalen Hurts being cleated in the calf. Which is part of your legs, and that's why he got the blood clot that aligns itself with a superficial blood clot, aka S V -T.
Unlike deep vein thrombus, these clots are generally less dangerous and rarely life-threatening. Because the surrounding tissue and lack of deep muscle compression make it harder for the clot to break loose and travel to the lungs. So here's where it gets deep, right? So because if you just thought That what Jalen Hurts had was just SVT, a superficial blood clot, which the team itself reported, which is what Michael Robinson referenced in the clip. So If you are to take that for what it's worth and you don't know what a superficial blood clot is and you Google it, this is what comes up. Okay With that being said, this says these clots are generally less dangerous and rarely life-threatening. Because the surrounding tissue and lack of deep muscle compression make it harder for the clot to break loose and travel to the lungs.
Guess what? For Jalen Hurts's case, as rare as it apparently seems to be, they did break loose and travel to the lungs Now if Michael Robinson as a former player all he knows is well I don't know what supervision blood clot means let me look that up real quick and you get the AI generated answer. This is the answer. So to him It doesn't seem to be a serious injury because it's in the wording. These clots are generally and in bold letters less dangerous and rarely, rarely life-threatening. Because they hard to travel. They rarely travel.
Well, Jayla Hurts is one of the rare cases, I assume, where it did travel. And now Michael Robinson looks the fool because he jumped out the window going off of the AI definition, which he wasn't technically wrong to make the assumption of, well, this isn't a big deal because AI is telling me it's not a big deal. He Googled it right. He said he Googled it. Here's the same Google. Unfortunately, it did leave the reference of that, hey, but this can be a big deal, but it's rare. Now we have the situation where Jalen Hurts is one of those rare cases where it did break loose and travel to his lungs But it looked like they were trying to pin the outcome of this season on a Jalen Hurts just so that they can have an excuse later on to move on from Jalen Hurts.
And again, I'm not saying I know nothing, guys. But if I'm just playing devil's advocate here and I'm thinking that way, if I'm Jalen Hurts or anybody in Jalen Hurts' camp, I'm saying, well, if everybody's hurt, I'm hurt too Guys, I've been cleated before. And I'm not saying you know a superficial blood clot isn't serious. I'm not saying that, but I would advise every all of our viewers to go Google superficial blood clot as opposed to a real blood clot. And again, I'm not a medical guy. But I'm just saying, to me, to me, it looked like Jalen is kind of getting himself out of the fray so that this lost season, which MJD, you just said it. Yeah.
This is a lost season. He's pulling himself out so that this doesn't look like it's on me. No in fairness, we have to stay away from the medical stuff. Yeah, we do we do, but I'm just saying they put in the statement superficial blood clock Yeah, so they did put in the statement superficial blood clot, and superficial blood clot means a lot of things, and you can make the insinuation that Yeah, he could leverage this as a nagging injury to be able to not play and let the losses pal up, and he could be absolved from any more criticism, but When you're jumping out the window with a take, but then every second of the way you're prefacing it that I'm not a doctor. I don't know. I don't know. That your your point doesn't even land So what you were trying to jump out the window to insinuate doesn't even land.
Take it from me as someone that has produced television, that has coached talent, that has helped write some takes for talent to be able to spit and get off. You can't hedge your bet like that with a take. If you're gonna jump off the ledge, you gotta jump off the ledge. You're trying to go viral. You're trying to be strong. You're trying to be strident. You can't half ass the take on the way to being strident It doesn't work that way.
This was hemming and hawing all the way for the take. And he still got roasted for it. Even before the news came out, he got roasted for it. But this is where it is where we have these athletes being put into positions and given platforms just because they play, just because they suited up, just because they got an NFL contract just because they had a monogam of success at the league that means we have to take everything that they say. How many times have we seen players? Get on a mic and say a really dumb thing or an inaccurate thing or a thing that makes absolutely no sense. That happens way more than an athlete coming in and changing the game with their opinions.
How many athletes can you say We're given a microphone. We're asked to break something down and give analysis and they change the game because of it. How many? Especially in the current age, in the last 20 years, out widen out to 20 years. In the last 20 years, how many athletes have broken through and have shown a innate ability to break down film or break down plays and display it in a manner that it blows up? I know Ryan Clark and them got some props for what they're doing on the pivot and they're getting a chance here and it looks clean. It looks dope.
It's well produced. It's a lot of good-looking cameras. It's a lot of good looking visual presentations. But the stuff that Ryan Clark is doing isn't groundbreaking. He's breaking down film. That's what he's supposed to be able to do He's not changing the game. He's not breaking down film in a way that we're not accustomed to seeing.
He's at a board and he's drawing on it and telestrading just like anybody else has. So again, I'm asking. What former athlete has walked into a production studio, walked into a television studio, and turned the game upside down with their ability to break their individual game or their sport down? I challenge you to give me some real answers. Not hot takers, not podcasters, someone that has walked in and has changed the way you view the game. Because that's the perspective we're supposed to be getting. We're getting somebody who actually had their hands in the dirt.
Somebody that suited up, somebody that was able to decleat someone someone that was able to win at a high level, we're expecting that expert analysis to be able to change the way we think. I'm asking you, how many former athletes have gotten you to change the way that you thought We'll hit the chat. So they say Jalen was in the hospital the day of the London game till 4 a. m. Why did he play that game, coach? Yeah, the Eagles have a lot of explaining to do The the crisis management teams are on the phone right now. There are tons of Zooms or Teams meetings right now between the Philadelphia Eagles and all their medical staff.
Everyone's on call right now. Anyone that had any any touch point of Jalen prior to that London trip, during that London trip, and post that London trip, they're all on call right now. Everyone is under gag orders. Everyone is being told don't say anything. Don't text anything. Damn sure don't tweet anything. Don't put anything on your Snapchat thinking it's going to disappear.
Don't do anything right now publicly Don't hit your man in the group chat. They are closing shop on this story. Because they all gotta have a unified front. They all gotta have a uniform take and a uniform opinion as to what the hell just happened. George in the chat NFL needs to launch investigation into the Eagles. They hit his injury and put his life in jeopardy. Yes, medical malpractice.
I don't say that lightly. I don't take that lightly Medical malpractice is a real thing. I think with what the Eagles have done, and there's been some people in the industry that have echoed this same type of sentiment. And thank you for being in the chat and contributing to the conversation. What the Eagles are putting themselves at risk here is that their star player, their franchise player, the player that they have invested in Buku Bread on. They put not only his playing career in jeopardy, they put his life in jeopardy. Because I've done some digging and I've done some research and I've pulled up some names of some other players that have been in the same in the same type of uh illness or the same type of sit situation like Jalen Hurts.
Jalen Hurts is not the only one There's been a lot of players that have had to deal with this. Let me pull that data up. I'm gonna read it to you from my notes here. Okay. So Where is it here? Okay, so let's first go through the timeline. Let's go through the timeline of events.
I think that's important, okay? So During that Rams game, October 4th, right? So let's let's try to remember these dates. October 4th, Jalen Hurts took a cleat to the calf, right? That's where, that's the origin story of all of this. October 4th against the Rams, he gets cleated in his calf. October 8th.
After two full practices on that calf being injured, he asked for treatment. Okay, so he let it rock for a few days. He had two full practices on that on that calf. Then he asked for treatment. So four days later, he asked for treatment. Then he get out there to London October 10th So from the 4th to the 8th, nothing. On the 8th, he asks for treatment.
10th, they're already in London. He gets an ultrasound and finds a blood clot. The team's medical staff and doctors in London review it and conclude activity and mobility are important and they clear him to play. Teams, medical staff, and doctors. And if you have been privy to my content, team, medical staffs, and doctors are basically team employees. They usually, I'm saying this with a grain of salt, they usually do not have the player's interest at heart. Because they're employed by the team.
If a team needs this player to play and the doctor is saying this player cannot play, that doctor's job could be in jeopardy that medical staff's careers could be in jeopardy because ownership, front office, if they are being taken to task because a player's not available Because the medical staff and the doctors are being conservative or being you know cautious in releasing a player that can cause the team to be able to lose, which brings Hellfire and Brimstone upon the front office ownership Coaching, whatever. So team medical staff and doctors are normally under tremendous amounts of pressure to do what the team would want them to do without being told by the team of what to decide So Jayla Hurts, four days after being cleated, asks for treatment. Two days later, he's in London and they find a blood clot after an ultrasound. Team medical staff and doctors review it and say he's good to go. They clear him to play. They ask for a follow-up ultrasound within 72 hours and they notify the league office. So Six days after being cleated, the league office is first being notified of this blood clot.
Then they have the game. So then this is when the 36 hours occurs during this point. This is when he has to stay up for 36 hours so he can play So October 11th in London, he plays every snap showing no limitations and loses 1917 at Jacksonville. Sirianni takes public blame about the special team stuff and all of that, but nothing necessarily about Jalen Hurts and his injury to keeping that under wraps. October 14th, last week Wednesday, they did a follow-up on the ultrasound, which shows the blood clot has moved. So they asked for a follow-up ultrasound on Saturday. They get that follow-up on Wednesday or Tuesday and then they get the results Wednesday and that shows that the blood clot has now moved.
Thursday, last week, he was ruled out for the Panthers game, and they called it a small superficial clot. Okay, so again we can have Michael Robinson jumping out the window. He's only going off of the fact that the team itself called it a quote small superficial clot Now, this is where things can get funky because if you're telling me it's a small superficial blood clot, but the clot has also moved. That's different because we're not talking about the same the same uh clot from when it was cleated. We're talking about something totally different. We're talking about a cle a clot that has moved Be that as it may, Eagles rule them out. Small superficial blood clot that got Michael Robinson to do his Googles and read, oh well, this isn't life-threatening, this isn't dangerous.
Hey, then that's why he jumps out the window and makes the take, even though along the way of making the take, he keeps absolving himself. I'm not a doctor, I'm not a doctor, I'm not a doctor, but I'm gonna make a medical take and have my hot take. Uh, yeah. Even more so But now, today, Monday, so what happened on the fourth, 15 days later What looked to only be a calf-only superficial blood clot is now confirmed as DVT. With his season likely being over. So that's the timeline of events From being cleated on October 4th, to going to London and having to stay up 36 hours on the 10th. To then finding out on the 14th that the blood clot has now moved from just the calf, to now the 19th where they have to shut him down for the rest of the year because the blood clots are now hello In his lungs.
That is horrific, bro. That is scary as hell. That is horrific as hell. But again, I talked earlier about the about the the military the military aspect in terms of football and how these players are axed or expected to do this type of thing. This is what I'm talking about. Tom Palaisero. How committed is Jalen Hurts to football?
Again, we are now canonizing Jalen Hurts. We're canonizing the fact that he stayed up for 36 hours. We're canonizing the fact that he played a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with an active blood clot in his system. We are championing this as if this is cool, as if this is great. As if this is an example to follow. How committed is Jalen Hurst to football? After initially being diagnosed with a superficial blood clot in London, doctors told him to not sleep as a precaution So he had to be awake for roughly 36 hours when he started against the Jaguars, starting for 220 yards and a touchdown.
We're not even canonizing a mediocre performance. This isn't like you know, remember when Brett Favre, I think his pops died, he went out there and threw like five touchdowns on Monday Night Football. This ain't that. We're canonizing Jalen Hurts for a mediocre game. So this this is what we're doing. This is what happens when we're canonizing this stuff in football. This is not the angle we should be talking about.
And Tom Pilasauro is a NFL shill, but even someone who I'm not even that big of a fan of in David Sampson had to come and be like, yo, committed. The Eagles front office should be committed. And the players union should be committed to players safety. This is not a feel-good story. It's an outrage. And I agree. Don't use this as this is peak football.
This is peak. This is what it means to be a warrior. This is what it means to be a champion. This is leaving it all out there on the field. This is going out on your shield. Hell no. Hell no, this is not the thing to be championing.
This is medical malpractice. This is the Eagles understanding that their season is heading into the shitter. Understanding that everyone's flaws are being exposed from the front office to the coaching staff to the quarterback And then asking the quarterback to do something unthinkable. And then because the quarterback is a coach's son, he acts accordingly and follows the line, toes the line. His health be damned. And now his career may be over because of it. And just like I asked Deion Sanders, now that he's out there struggling two and four out there in boulder, was it worth it?
Was it worth it to stay up 36 hours to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars, where that quite possibly could be the last game of your career? Was it worth it? You are a employee of the Philadelphia Eagles, which are which is part of the National Football League Which is the least player-friendly sport of all the professional sports in this country? NFL contracts are akin to UFC contracts. You have a lot on your shoulders. You have a big chip on your shoulder. You have a lot of things on your plate.
Being Jalen Hurts. What this team asked of you was horrific. What this team expected of you was horrific. You are paid to be the face of the franchise. You are paid to be the star. You are paid to be the one. However, you have to have it within you to be able to say, nah, this is asking too much of me.
But something about playing that sport, something about playing that position, has made him feel as though, no, okay, I'll do it. Stay up for 36 hours, don't sleep, and then go play a whole ass game. Okay, I'll go do it. That in itself is the problem. We will blame the Eagles front office. We will blame the Eagles medical staff. We will blame everybody involved.
But the part of that everybody is Jalen. There's so much here. Where is the NFLPA? Have they released a statement even? Has the NFLPA said or done anything in this? I'm gonna look up to see if the NFLPA has had a statement on this or anything. Jalen Hurst pays union dues.
I'm scrolling the timeline. I don't see anything from NFLPA. Not as of yet. Let me make sure. Let me refresh. Their last tweet was October 16th. Nothing yet.
I mean, this is the weakest union in all sports anyway. And I know the league has definitely been in communication to let them know what they're trying to do. them as an NFL to try to investigate this to see what the hell happened. But this is where as the NFL PA you have to take a stand. This is where as the NFL PA you have to be able to Look past CBAs, look past negotiations, look past potential pending strikes, and actually be a protector of an employee That's the whole job of a union is to be protective of an employee. They pay dues. For you to protect them.
They pay dues for you to provide services and to be a barrier in between them and the shield. Yet too many times the NFL PA is walked over, too many times the NFLPA is taken advantage of. Too many times the owners and the commissioner have openly said how weak Or let me not say openly, because you know, too many times the NFL owners and its commissioner have taken advantage of what is perceived to be a weak players' union. Now we have someone like Fraude who is gonna insinuate that this might have something to do with the vaxx. Let me go ahead and run that sound back. Jalen Hurts is one of the classiest individuals you can ever encounter. Um, he's an elite athlete um who obviously prides himself on taking great care of himself and his body.
I don't know how this has happened. Um, you know, hopefully, you know, I I pray for his good health first of all, first and foremost. But I hope that at some point in time Once he discovers how this happened, uh he's open and forthcoming about it so so many other people can be helped. Because uh you know, however what does something like this happening? It's very odd. And I think that a lot of times when, you know, when you find yourself in these kind of precarious situations, you know, certainly not encouraging people to divulge more than they want to because it's their private personal health business. But anything that you can do that you think are gonna help a lot of people out there, I think will go a long way because something like this happening, I mean all of us are sitting here saying, How in God's name could that have happened?
What do you mean? You know, I just I just I I'm so sad for him, but I'm glad they caught it. Yes, what are you trying to say? And the chances of returning to obviously excellent health uh should be extremely high. So I pray for him and his family and hope that he's great. Let's get that out the way first. On the football side, Eagles are done.
I mean the Eagles were done even prior to this, but yes, for sure now with Jalen Hurts out for the season, the Eagles are done. But yes, so you have the NFLPA, you have someone with the the credibility in the clout and we use credibility loosely here but still credibility uh in terms of the platform that he's been given this man is insinuating that jaylene hurts got this because of the vax Then we have NFL Network where we have Michael Robinson out here, you know, insinuating that the uh casualness of the injury. Because it's a casual injury, again, because this was before the blood clot had moved. The calf blood clot was not serious enough of an injury to have a QB sitting out. So Jalen Hurts might just be getting out of these games so he doesn't have to take the hit, which should be directed more so at the front office to coaching staff, etc. But it looked like they were trying to pin the outcome of this season on a Jalen Hurts just so that they can have an excuse later on to move on from Jalen Hurts. And again, I'm not saying I know nothing, guys, but if I'm just playing devil's advocate here and I'm thinking that way, if I'm Jalen Hurts or anybody in Jalen Hurts' camp, I'm saying, well, if everybody's hurt, I'm hurt too Guys, I've been cleated before.
And I'm not saying, you know, a superficial blood clot isn't serious. I'm not saying that. But I would advise every all of our viewers to go Google superficial blood clot as opposed to a real blood clot. Now again, I'm not a medical guy. Which I did. But I'm just saying. I Googled it.
To me To me, it looked like Jalen is kind of getting himself out of the fray so that this lost season, which MJD, you just said it. Yeah. This is a little bit more than a little bit. They put in the statement if I'm the producer blood clock. Look it up. What is it? If I'm the producer in his ear I'm saying, dog, you can't be backpedaling like this.
Either make the take or not. If you're gonna jump out the window, you gotta jump out the window You can't just him and Hawley. You can't half-ass it. You can't. He's like Melo with the triple threat jab step. He's like, I think I'm gonna take the shot. I think I'm gonna take the shot.
No, just take the shot Stop wasting time. He's James Harder just dribbling to the top of the key. Just 30 dribbles per possession. Yo, dogs, you gonna do something with the rock or not? If you're not gonna do something, pass the rock. If you're gonna not make the take, if you're gonna keep half-assing doing the hopscotch of double dutching, not sure if you're gonna jump in on the double dutch. If you don't know if you're gonna jump in, then move out the way so somebody else could jump in So he half asked to take and he's still getting roasted for it.
But if I'm the NFLPA, I gotta take everybody to task. I'm taking Fraude A for trying to insinuate that this has something to do with the vaccine. I'm getting at Michael Robinson for being on the platform, the NFL controlled and owned platform, and out here trying to insinuate that a player is faking an injury. or using an injury to get out of receiving criticism or further criticism and blame. If I'm the NFLPA, these are the things that they need to be front and center about But because they are the weakest union of the four major professional sports in this country, it has been crickets for them. And that's why the players will never get fully guaranteed contracts. Never Because if their players union can even jump out there and talk about this stridently, what can they talk about?
All right, what else we got? So we got the Jalen stuff out the way. Um I'm sure there's gonna be more stuff coming when it comes to this Jalen Hurst story. I'm sure there's gonna be more information and tea that that's going to be dropped. But this is going to be a situation that continues to evolve. Let me know in the chat. Do you think the Eagles did the right thing here?
Do you think the Eagles should be held accountable for what happened to Jalen Hurts? Who all should be held accountable? Medical staff, team doctors, coaches, coordinators, GM, owner? All the made the trip to London, right? All the made the trip to London. Howie can't say he ain't know. Ownership can't jump out that window and say they didn't know.
As involved as he is, he can't he can't get that off So, everyone was culpable. Everyone had a piece in this. Who should be held most accountable? Who takes the blame? Cause somebody gonna take the blame. If this man loses his career as he is he on the cusp of uh just the end of that contract, right? Let me make sure.
Uh da da Jalen Hurts. Jalen Hurts, quarterback. Let's go ahead and jump into that. Yeah, it's church, yep. Let's see. Yeah, he could potentially opt out. It's a potential potential out coming up.
One more year. One more year left on that deal. One more what's that thirty-six mil? Thirty-six more mil left. Two hundred and seventy million, a hundred and eighty of it was guaranteed. If his career is over, I'm gonna say he should be financially okay. If his career, if he is not financially okay, look at all that money that was not given to him.
There's about a hundred million in funny money. About ninety, ninety-something million in funny money. That he never got It was reported five years 255 million, which could be go all the way up to at its max value of 270 million, but the total guaranteed number was 179 million dollars. And his career might be over. And this is why you push for fully guaranteed money. Because if his career is actually over He would have walked away with $255 million instead of $179. And I know that sounds like, you know, awesome Jalen Brown should have having harps being played at the crib a couple of times a week.
But there is a difference. That is a huge difference between 179 and 255. If I sign my name on a paper that says I'm to get $255 million and I only get $179 million and it has nothing to do with taxes. You need to explain to me that big of a gap. And then, if you tell me the most I can make out of this contract is $270 million, and I'm still only bringing home $179 million, you need to explain to me that gap disparity. But it's the NFL and the players union is weak as hell, so it's okay. Only nasty man, Kirk Cousins, and Dak Prescott Seem to be able to get if not a hundred percent fully guaranteed like Nasty Man's only one who's been who's been able to get that off but Kirk Cousins and Dak Prescott are damn near close to that same level.
Everybody else though you gotta deal with these funny money contracts. So the lead story, Jalen Hurts out for the season after doctors discovered multiple blood clots. in his lungs. That's the lead story. So I feel like we need to jump on here and do a emergency stream. But there are some other things I would like to discuss. But if you want to talk J-La Hurts, let me know in the comments.
If you have not liked the stream already, if you're digging this content, the way I'm giving you no frills. nonsense. I'm not giving you hot takes, I'm not giving you opinions. That's giving you my thoughts. As someone that's been in media for almost 20 years, if you like this type of content, go ahead and hit the like button. If you have not subscribed to the channel, I would encourage you to subscribe because that's what we do here I am not in the business of clickbait. I am not in the business of rage baiting people.
I am not in the business of hot takery. I get my opinions. I leverage it off of what I know and what I've dealt with working within the sports media industry. And I try to cut through the nonsense and filter out the bullshit and deliver it to you here. So if you like that, go ahead and subscribe. So that's the A block, right? There's some other stuff going on as the cults are beginning to clean house.
The GM is out and there's a slow undercurrent building in regards to Pat McAfee. What is it about Pat McAfee that's building that's like an underswell? Well, people are trying to connect the dots in terms of, hey man, Pat McAfee. is a guy that you know played for the cults and has ties to that area has set up his you know his studio space out there and you know has made just like Jeff Teague and them has kind of made Indiana a hub It's a weird spot to be in. I've worked in downtown Indianapolis doing multiple games at multiple arenas out there, the football stadium out there, Lucas Oil and I don't know if they're still calling it Conseco Fieldhouse, but whatever they're calling it out there. Uh now I've done Final Fours out there. I've done games over at Butler, which is not that far from downtown in Indianapolis.
All that stuff, right McAfee has a strong linchpin and connection point to that area. McAfee is now being called out for contributing to the downfall of the Colts franchise. Such as his public humiliation of Anthony Richardson, and the way that he loved propping up guys like Joe Flacco and Daniel Jones Even when they were playing worse than Anthony Richardson. And then he also had beef with Zaire Franklin, who is now a ex-Indianapolis cult, who's hoping with the Green Bay Packers at shown on Sunday Night Football. As as you know, they he's he's played well. Packers defense a little less, so but uh he's played well, he's fitting well with them. Um but the b the bottom line is Pat McAfee's allegiance to Indianapolis and his allegiance to certain players who looked apart in Indianapolis, is that being tied to anything?
Now I'm not gonna sit here and jump out the window and say a crazy take. I'm just gonna sit here and say the information is right there. The information is right there in front of you When you're looking upon these pundits, when you're looking upon these ex-athletes, these ex-athletes have allegiances, have biases. That's the journalistic issue that they have a problem adhering to When they jump into the space, they only have an allegiance to people that they like. Funny enough, that's the same thing they used to get at journalists about. You know, a moderation will never say nothing bad about Michael Jordan because that's his man 's. Well, what do these players do?
These players go out there and they have podcasts and they have podcast guests or live stream guests or full-on shows, ensemble casts like McAfee, and then they bring on players that they like. McAfee did not like having Woj on his show. He openly liked Shams. Even before Shams worked for the Four Letter Network, he would have Shams come on and break down NBA when Woj was still the man at the four-letter network, knowing that Woj and Shams had beef. McAfee still had Shams on his show over Woach. So he was doing the same thing. Well Shams is my man's.
I don't care that the company that's paying my check and signing my check. Has employed another guy to be their lead NBA guy. I'm gonna pick the guy that I like to come on my platform and give me NBA information. So the same thing that caused new media or caused former athletes to bring in and usher in this era of new media, they were mad at old media because old media showed biases. Now they're coming into the space and they're doing the same exact thing. The habitual nutheader Draymond Green talks about you know new media new media we're we're doing things new and different what's he doing he's doing a podcast is that necessarily new media no podcasting has existed for over fifteen years the format itself and probably even before that What exactly is Draymond Green doing that is new? Oh, because instead of you know going out on the town after a game, he's taken to the hotel room and potding?
That's new media. Has Draymond Green brought onto its platform someone he doesn't like? I think he did an interview with Kevin Durant, was that on his pod? That's the only player. It's not like he's he's not gonna ha interview Dylan Brooks on his pot. He's not gonna interview Jordan Poole on his pot. Cause that would be new media.
But new media is doing the same thing that they criticized old media for doing, which then made them create Their own platforms, aka new media. So do I think Pat McAfee has contributed to the downfall of the Colts franchise? Yes and no. Because one, the father dies, right? Erse dies, it gets passed down to his daughter, his daughter starts you know, channeling the sidelines or you know perusing the sidelines. She's got the clipboard out. She's looking the part.
And everyone likes it. Everyone's like, oh man, she's locked in. She's engaged. She's getting up to speed. She's been she was Jim Eirsay's daughter her whole life. I'm sure she has been around enough football to know what the hell is going on. Now she's looking apart.
It's performative, my opinion. If she truly is trying to take the reins and be like her pops was, she doesn't want to be all the way like her pops, but enough like her pops to where she's running shit You can't have Pat McAfee influencing your decisions. You will not be taken seriously in that role, in that job, in that league. If a former punter, turned pundit, turned podcaster, turned streamer, turned all everything of ESPN, he cannot be influencing your decisions as the boss. Now we're hearing rumors that they're gonna go to Peyton Manning and offer him a job and offer him a ownership stake, as if that's gonna change anything. The same Peyton Manning that had a mysterious box show up to his crib in Denver when he was having neck trouble. Some alleged PEDs showed up at Peyton Manning's crib under his wife's name when Peyton Manning was trying to recover from neck surgery.
That payt manning? That's who you want to run shit? That's who you think's gonna fix stuff? The man whose Manning Cash Show has taken a nosedive into ratings? That's who you're you want to bring in. Now what expertise has Peyton shown? Y'all seen Arch over the weekend, right?
Speaking of college, you want to see that prom effect? Some of you might be here because of the last one of the last clips I did in terms of uh Dion. The Coach Prime effect. 18 and 25 overall, 2-13 versus top 25 teams, 4-21 versus teams with a 500 record or better. He is seven and seventeen without his son Shador, and he has two ranked wins in two years. That's that Louis luggage though. That is that Louie luggage.
And now even his own people are jumping out against him. Let me pull that tweet up. Your man's unk, Shannon Sharp, is taken to task. Let's see Alright, so we're gonna pause that. I am gonna just show it. Shannon Sharp says that Deion Sanders may need to change the way he recruits players moving forward. It ain't about you.
It's about these kids. Another quote, guys ain't coming. If you can't go to their house, their grandma's house, their mom's house, their granddad's house, they're not coming. It's not enough for you to be Deion Sanders, Coach Prime. Another quote, you have to take yourself out of the equation. It ain't about you, it's about these kids. And you got to show them that it's about them.
And while he may be right, you know where he could have this type of attitude? I'm making sure I have my sound effect ready. He could have had that attitude at Jackson State. He could have had that attitude at Jackson State. Because it was about him. It wasn't about the kids. That type of atmosphere.
Big fish, small pond. That's where prime. excels but he thought he could take that that type of energy and swag the boulder and get it off That's not how that works. You're trying to play D1 games. You're trying to play FBS games. That's not how that works. That's not how that works, Brian.
You can't be out here not recruiting. You can't be out here not recruiting. They have had piss-point recruiting classes the last couple of years They've done slightly better so far this year, but the last couple of recruiting classes have been mediocre as hell. Because the man don't want to be out there. He ain't ready to he ain't not only was he not swack, he's not about the grind of what it takes to be a college coach. He thinks he can be a Saban. He thinks he can be a Dabo.
He thinks he's one of those types of coaches to where the name says it all. Just my interest in you is enough. Getting that letter of intent sent to your crib is enough. No, you are coach prime and bolder. You're not coaching a bunch of dudes up and getting them to the league. You still need to prove yourself. I will stand on it.
Coach Prime is a stimulus. He comes in, he brings a lot of fan fire, a lot of bluster, a lot of energy, a lot of swag, and it works But it only works if there's enough talent that Louis luggage. That Louie luggage has been missing the last couple of years, bruh And while you're trying to change the way you recruit now, because you've realized you can't just keep resting on the laurels of, well, I'm Coach Prime. I'm pulling up. It's about me. I send that letter of intent. It says Colorado.
It says Boulder on it. You know what it is. Sign up. No. No, but you could do that at an HBCU. You could have done that where it's more about you and not the kids. At Jackson State, you would have been a big fish in a small pond.
Now you would have eventually outgrew it. But you had a chance to have that setup to where you are the university. He ain't Colorado. He ain't Boulder. The black population is literally 1%. All that swag, Louie luggage shit ain't working. They want results.
They want wins because you were hired. Help. At Jackson, you would have been perceived as something different, something more, something more impactful. There's a culture tie, there's a community tie. There's a skin folk and kinfolk type. Now we all know all kinfolk, else all skin folk and kinfolk, but Prime has been enough of a salesman to make you think that he is kinfolk. Even though his actions have shown he's definitely skin folk and not kinfolk, but to some people, no matter what he does, just because of the way he looks and the way that he talks and the swag that he carries himself with.
They will take him as kinfolk. That energy that he's trying to move with and operate with, that works at an HBCU that is happy to have you. Boulder is not happy to have you unless you're winning and winning a lot because that's an expectation. And that's an expectation that you set. We coming. I'm bringing my luggage and it's Louie. You did all of that.
You set those expectations. And now, just in a short matter of time. Where are we at here? 18 and 25 overall, 2-13 versus the top 25, 4 and 21 against teams 500 or better. You set that expectation about the Louie luggage. You got rid of all the dudes that were incumbent when you got the boulder. You let all them kids go.
You let all of them hit the portal. Because you were bringing in all your own folk. And you're actively heavy in the portal, but being active in the portal is only a short-term fix. What is establishing the rules for your program? If you're living and dying by the portal and you're not even that good of an X's and O's coach, you're going to get exposed And that's what's been happening. If you don't have NFL talent on both sides of the ball, it's gonna be slow for you. And it's been slow for him ever since Shador and Trappis Sanders got up out of there.
It worked. It was a stimmy. It was a stimulus. It was a short-term fix. The stimulus package worked. I'm coming in. We coming.
Hellfire and brimstone. We got Wu-Tang on the sidelines. We got all the stuff. But the minute my son gets drafted, the minute my surrogate son gets drafted, I got nothing left. and 21 versus teams 500 or better. That 's your man 's All right, let's see what else we got here. So there's a there's a media story I want to talk about, and it's not necessarily sports, but stick with me, right?
So Hot is a legendary New York hip hop radio station And they have fallen on hard times. They have fallen on hard times in terms of credibility, acumen. They have lost their position in terms of Hot 97 was a must stop, was a must listen in terms of getting up to the minute, hip-hop information, RB information, concert information, tea, gossip, whatever, right? Those days are long gone. Relevancy in radio is a is a thing that is a long gone era. Importance of radio has waned. I have been a proponent of saying radio has been dead.
I've been saying it for almost a decade now. And people always say, well, you know, people are still in radio. Radio still matters. I'm like, yes, but it doesn't matter the way it once did. And I could tell you that as someone that used to produce radio Used to be an audio engineer for radio and used to aspire to want to be talent on the radio and have my own radio show at one point in time. So I can speak to it innately because I'm within the industry. And I can tell you, radio has been dead As I grew up knowing it, right?
The medium still exists. You still have outliers who are able to make money in it, but by and large, the importance of radio has significantly waned. One thing radio has tried to do, and you see this in sports radio, and it certainly crossed over into music radio, pop culture radio, and hip-hop radio with this specific example of Hot 97. is that they have tried to get younger. And by trying to get younger, all they do is try to get popular. And they try to leverage people that have become popular on social media, on online, bring them into the fold and bring your audience with you. Bring that young audience with you to our dying medium.
We've seen this time and time again of the young podcaster gets a radio show or this young person on IG now gets a radio show and the expectation is that That audience from IG, that audience from Twitter, that audience from YouTube is going to now tune into a radio show. If that sounds silly to you, please believe it sounds silly to me, but the problem is that them people up in them suites, them people up in them executive offices, they still think that's viable. They think if they skew younger by just hiring out new up-and-coming talent and bring them into an old stale medium like radio. That boom, all these youngins are now gonna be asking their parents to tune into the radio for them or turn the radio on for them, or I'm gonna listen to this stream of a radio station. That has 20 to 25 minutes of ads in an hour as opposed to a podcast Which might have little to no ad breaks. Or a YouTube live stream, which might have little to no ad breaks. Now I'm gonna go to a medium that is still archaic.
Where they have ad breaks literally every five to ten minutes Yet and still people keep falling for it. And the latest to fall for it is your man's mirror. So Desus and Miro was a popular, you know, combination, popular duo. They had a lot of spark, they had a lot of great moments, they had a lot of virality. And it looked like they were going to be the new age, we want to do Abbott Costello, whatever you want to call them, right? They were going to be the new it duo going forward. But Whether the money got funny or people's interest change or, you know, if sun don't shine, sun don't shine, whatever it was, they decided to break up Deces has struggled since that breakup.
Miro has from a distance looked to be the one that has won out in his ascending. The biggest move for Miro was getting this hot 97 gigway. He was taking over for Ebro and them once they got Ebro and them up out the paint earlier this year. Merrow was seen to be like, okay, he's gonna establish himself in radio. Well, things have not gone too smooth for Miro and Radio. So him and his co-host took to the airwaves and took to the YouTube live stream during their uh radio bro during their radio program and aired out their bosses. Now it's a full 15-minute clip.
I'm not gonna bore you with the full 15 minutes. I pulled one segment from each person for you to kind of get a feel of how they were giving it up. Now one portion is from Miro talking on the air, which you can kind of hear he's talking in code a little bit And then you have Kaz or Kazim. That's his name, right? Kazim, yeah. Kazim, who was apparently when if you watch the High live stream, when they go to when they go to commercial break on terrestrial radio. If you're watching the YouTube live stream, the cameras stay on and the mics stay on or they have the ability to turn the mics on or leave the mics on and they can, you know, have a special segment just for the YouTube audience.
Well Kaz got his shit off uh after Miro got his off on air. Kaz got his off on the YouTube portion. Okay? So Let me lay that out for y'all. To do to and get that loaded up Okay, so here's how Miro gave it up initially. Oh listen, if you're sitting in your cubicle right now listening or watching us on YouTube, you know exactly what I'm talking about, man. Y'all have them weekly meetings and there's the guy who gets paid two more zeros than you and you're like What does this guy even do?
You know what I mean? And that's a question I find at myself asking myself a lot. Okay, let's stop there. So You can get into the whole thing of everyone, most people at their job don't like their bosses, or we oftentimes are in positions where we have to question the acumen of our bosses, right? I've certainly have been in that position. He's trying to make it so as though he don't think his bosses know what to do with their program. That's the overarching point he's trying to make here, right?
I'm gonna play the rest of it, but the overarching point is that The people that are in charge of his show in the promoting and the marketing and just the overall moving the direction of the show forward, he doesn't think highly of them, okay? Oh, listen, if you're sitting in your cubicle right now listening or watching us on YouTube, you know exactly what I'm talking about, man. Y'all have them weekly meetings and there's the guy who gets paid two more zeros than you and you're like What does this guy even do? You know what I mean? And that's a question I find myself asking myself a lot. Will I smoke the Zion the gazebo and feed the fish? You know what I mean?
So listen Do not be discouraged, you know what I mean? Because we are in the era of independent media. So you could go out and do your thing and make your own thing shake. Well you could have did that already. Uh you don't need to depend on them. But why did you do that though one thing All of you talented execs out there, shout out to you. All the young execs that are tapped in.
I didn't know an exec is talented. You had one up here recently, uh CEO Kickstarter, Everett You know what I mean? That guy, he knows what he's doing. The Nigerian kid Kickstarter has had scammers on their platform. I don't know if you want to shout out around and like Kickstarter CEO. Shout out to him That's called executive level talent. When you have that and you have on-air talent, you're cooking.
You gotta have both. You know what I'm saying? And sounds good. When you don't It's clear. You know what I'm saying? So that being said, hip-hop Jeopardy. Let's cover it up next.
You know what I'm saying? At 830. Yeah, maybe you shouldn't be doing hip hop jeopardy at 8. 30 in the morning. So that's kind of the whole point. Maybe you shouldn't be doing hip hop jeopardy at 8. 30 in the morning if you're trying to keep that audience, right?
So a lot of things there He talks about you don't have to do it this way, you could do it independent. Well, why didn't you do it independent? Why didn't you just do a podcast? Because clearly that's what you're angling at. Or why aren't you going to a a media digital first platform you're kind of insinuating that you can take that show that y'all are doing and put it to another platform in its entirety then go do that Go do that. I don't know what their contract status is. I don't I don't think they had multi-year contracts.
And if they did, I'm sure they had some outlanguages on both ends, mutually agreed to out uh you know outlanguage in that contract. So If it's only a couple of month run and they both mutually agree to leave, then so be it. But if you're thinking you can take that and take that somewhere else, And get lit or just as lit or better, you are in for a rude awakening because there is the notion of people that are popping on social media And believing that they can now do industry things just because they're popping on social media. Like we just seen the whit with the comedian. I forget who he is. But to do that. You know, has had some skits similar to Drewski and then he went out and did a stand-up special and everyone killed him for it because the stand-up special was that good.
Well it's because yeah, he's not a stand-up comedian. Doing skits and doing stand-up are different things. Yes, you can look at people that have come from SNL or in Living Color back in the day or even Mad TV. And be like, oh yeah, well a lot of those people have taken that same path. Yeah, but they were comedians first. Then they did sketch comedy. Like to just do sketches or just to be funny in your group chat and then jump out there and think that you can do SNL quality work.
That is you're in for rude awakening. Like there's levels to this shit And I think social media has lowered the bar or lowered the bar of entry for some, not all, for some, that it has allowed folk to get in over their head, right? There's they're sinking before they can swim. They're swimming in the deep end of the pool when they really should be treading at the kiddie pool, right I don't think Merrill's good at radio. Is that a slight on him? No. In this day and age, it really doesn't matter to be good on radio.
To be good on radio requires a lot of things. The ability to talk, the ability to carry a conversation, the ability to be able to make segments. that don't sound that interesting become interesting. There's a lot of elements to what it takes to be good on radio. Being a funny guy on Twitter or a funny guy when you had a s when you had a partner or being on Melo 's podcast or whatever, or being able to thumb out some tweets and get some jokes and go viral, that is not the same as opposed to running a whole ass radio show. And being the lead voice of it at that. You can't make that jump.
And to be quite, and to be even more transparent No matter how good you actually are, it wouldn't have mattered because it's radio and it's a dying medium, which is what I led with in the beginning He could have been the next big thing. He could have been the next Howard Stern. It wouldn't have mattered because radio doesn't matter for that type of person anymore. That type of person is going to podcasting, it's going to streaming, it's going to, you know, satellite radio at at best if you're trying to stay in that satellite space, in that radio space, you're going to satellite as opposed to terrestrial radio. So even if he was really good at it, he wasn't gonna be able to really get it off like that because The platform itself isn't really made for that anymore. Some people listen to the radio because it's a thing that comes on in their car and it's free. They have kids listening, they're taking their in-laws or whatever, they're driving other people around, like, so you can't play your own stuff, so you just turn on the radio.
There is audience for that. The problem is that audience is really limited down to that niche Most people are playing their own music. Most people are playing a playlist. Most people are playing music from streaming or a podcast or a live stream. We have so many more options than back in the day where it was radio or your tape deck or CD. And that was it. Now you can literally play movies while you're driving So the platform itself doesn't allow someone to be popping like that.
And Kaz came out there and was talking. And let me get to his section here so I can get to that. Okay, so he went out there and was talking about the money. And I want to get into that because the money piece is isn't is also a thing that I think they're in for a rude awakening on. Yeah, this is the worst place I've ever worked in my life. Far and away, so let me tell you something. Did y'all know?
Cassie, you really want to say this one? Yeah, I do Did you know that like in the past three months you've had better ratings than our chief competition, which is like have way more Uh I want to say uh resources in this place. When it talks about executive level talent not being good enough to lead a company or anything like that. You look at the people in this room and it's like damn it's a effing miracle that a lot of this stuff gets done here. Rainy back there Cast, shine. Because it's radio. This board that's like 95 years old.
It's radio. A lot of times when you guys tune in and it sounds like uh popcorn getting popped or scratchy as hell. It's not the fault of anybody in this room, uh I'll tell you that much. Um What were you expecting? There are so many people that I know that are super talented that can take people who have millions of followers socially, millions of actual uh real sort of um influence within culture. That must surprise that That's the problem. Not here though.
The people that are that you you'll never see behind this camera, the people that you'll see. That's not how that works. The people that you see over there, whoever's left over there, um Yeah. I don't know what they get paid to do, to be honest. Uh I have worked at places, I've worked at Bleach Report, I've worked at uh Stet Translation, I've worked at uh Uninterrupted Spring Hill Wave Sports Bronck The Ringer Lots of Media Places Um so many bad things being said. It's like uh working analog in a digital world. You know what I'm saying?
Yes. And it's and it sucks, but at the same time. You chose it The people in here are awesome. You chose to work at a analog place. Like that you made your own point It's like working at an analog place in a digital split. Like, yes, you chose to work in terrestrial radio. All the companies you name that you claim that you used to work for are digital platforms.
You then decided to go work at a terrestrial radio station. You decided that. You decided to put yourself in the hands of people that work in terrestrial radio, which is an archaic medium. You decided to do that. That's your fault. If I make the decision of, hey man, I'm popping on social media. I am popping on digital.
I am popping on streaming. I 'm now gonna go to a radio station and try to carry that over there. If you're so adept At the at at the social media landscape. If you're so adept, if you got millions of followers and everyone in the room's got millions of this, millions of that. Y'all didn't realize, hey, this thing doesn't work in radio. Y'all think that y'all could just turn into the to the Breakfast Club in terms of how they have been able to leverage their radio station and turn that into a streaming behemoth? With the YouTube stuff and iHeart and all that, that's a machine making that work.
You thought you could come in and with, well, I got a certain amount of followers, you got a certain amount of followers, you got a certain amount of followers. If we pull all that together and we get this thing popping, we out of here. That's the executive way of thinking, but that's the archaic executive way of thinking. You're not gonna be popping that way. That's where they fucked up. You thought you could bring your following to go listen to a radio station You thought you would be able to convince managers and executives that run a terrestrial radio station to understand the importance of your social media following? While they may understand on the surface level, they don't understand what that truly means innately.
But ultimately, you decided to sign the contract for the look. Because it ain't for the bread, because I can tell you ain't no money in radio. Now some people are able to make some money, but not a lot of people are getting their actual market value in radio. So you can't tell me there you can't tell me you did this for the bread. You did this for the look and what it means to be a part of part of Hot 97 and the legacy of that. You did it for that But you said it in your own answer, which is what which was meant to be a dig at the bosses, but you're ultimately the one that signed your name on a contract to work for those bosses. You brought your your your digital following to an analog space and expected to get the same results if not better.
That's w that's a you problem, not a them problem. They won They were able to to satisfy their bosses if your numbers are true that you have been beating the Breakfast Club, then the bosses have did their job. They got who was perceived to be young and poppin' and they give him a platform. Good. Right, my hands of it Their mission is accomplished. They're gonna get their bonuses. Especially if your numbers are true and you are, you have been beating the Breakfast Club.
That 's even more reason for the bonuses for the bosses that you're speaking ill of to get their bonuses. Cause they were correct in getting the young hot thing. Preface Club's a little stale. They've had some changes. They've had some controversy. Not in a great way. Some of them look to be mailing it in.
Okay, we're gonna bring some new blood that's gonna go hard, go ham. And y'all came in and through y'all words have went hard and went ham and did the damn thing and have been winning in the ratings. But guess what? There's limits to that. This ain't like streaming where you could go crazy with the ads and all that stuff. This ain't you know podcast where you could go crazy with the numbers and run it up. This is still terrestrial radio.
There are limits in place. And ultimately you signed on the dotted line. So I just want to get into that and just leverage my years of experience. But my career began in radio, so I know radio really well. And when I hear people try to tear down radio, and especially people that have made their their bones in the social media landscape then get angry at going backwards to a old medium and complaining about that old medium when they signed a contract to work within that old medium that bothers me. That bothers me. That bothers me because you could have stayed independent.
You could have kept bouncing around the company to company to company. You could have hit YouTube. You could have hit a stream. You could have hit a pod. Merrow was doing the pod with Melo. He could have leveraged that deal and did a pod on that. All these athletes rappers that have these networks, y'all could have leveraged something with any of them or y'all could have made your own thing.
And just done it. And not even need the whole hot banner behind you. But you did it. You took the check. You thought you were going to change radio. You didn't. Because you can't change something that's already dead.
And you brought your social media clout to something that was already dead. That's a you problem. That's not an executive problem. Anyway, I just wanted to get that off. Uh let me just do a quick check of the timeline to make sure nothing else has developed. Oh, we have some Sirianni sound. Will that play out?
I don't know if that'll play. Uh can I get this? Hang on. We got some Sirianni sound. See if this'll allow me to play it out. Uh, where is chat? Duo chat And we always put the players health uh first.
Okay. So we have some Sirianni sound. I'm gonna play this out. Nick Sirianni will take us out today. Nick Sirianni after getting pressed by a reporter about Jalen Hurts blood clot situation. Just about a minute. We'll play it out Nick, why was Jalen Hurts allowed to fly home despite the team knowing that he had a blood clot?
Again, again, I'm not a medical expert. Same type same deal there. We get medical information from our guys. And we always put the players health uh first and foremost in every situation. You can't say that when it's been reported you had that man stay up for thirty six hours. You cannot get that line off about how you have the players Health and protection in mind. You cannot say that.
And this is why these people are always daring the headlights. And that's why I was saying earlier how everyone involved in this situation is under crisis management This is horrible already. Like Sirianni has had a history of having problematic press conferences. His introductory one was one it was an all-timer This is heading towards that way, depending on what he says here for the rest of this segment. Um and you know that's where we were there. Did you uh were you briefed by the medical team? Uh before you do this press conference on why he was permitted to fly despite the blood clot?
Can you give us the information? You see him looking off there. He's trying to look like, yo, they're they're they're grilling me. Yes, they're gonna grill you. The face of the f the face of the franchise is down for the year because of allegedly y'all negligence. Yes, you're gonna get grilled. For the public.
Thank you Guys, I've addressed this. I've talked to you guys about this. Again, the medical experts are there. And I think I've answered this question. Question multiple times. We put out a statement for you guys to hear. Nick, why was Jalen Hurts allowed to fly home despite the team knowing that he had a blood clot?
Again, again, I'm not a medical expert. Same type same deal there. We get medical information from our guys And we always put the players health at first and foremost. You can't, you literally cannot say that. He cannot get that off with a straight face. The man had to stay up for 36 hours before quarterbacking a game in London. You cannot say this.
We always put the players health uh first and foremost and You can't see you look that's the worst thing you can say Cause the follow-up should have been in the I'll get this this reporter props for at least trying to do some pushback. But the next thing should have been How can you say that you're trying to keep the player's interest in mind when you had this player allegedly stick up for 36 hours and still was QB1 for a game? In every situation. Health uh and we always put the players health uh first and foremost in every situation. Was Jalen the next question should have been was Jalen 's health put first when you wax him to stay up? hours to quarterback a game on Sunday. That should have been the follow-up.
What part of asking Jalen Hurts To stay up for 36 hours straight was keeping his health first after having him fly to London. What part of that is protecting his health? Staying up for 36 hours and then quarterbacking again Not 36 hours we need to monitor your health. 36 hours because we need you to be QB1 for a game we need to win. Um and you know that's where we were there. Did you uh were you briefed by the medical team uh before you did this press conference on why he was permitted to fly despite the blood clot? Thank you.
Guys, I've I've addressed this. I've talked to you guys about this again. Horrible job the medical expert experts. Horrible job of series. Horrible job. Absolutely horrible job by Sirianni there. I mean there's there's certain things you can get away with.
You know, there's a reason why Belichick kept things as short and tight as he did because he didn't want to play that game But like the fact that you have him d responding in that way Trying to give you bullshit talking points in that way, when it's so clear that they did not have Jalen Hurts's health Top of mind. They were not trying to protect him. They were not trying to make sure he was good. They let that man or told that man or instructed that man to stay up for 36 hours. To go quarterback a game against the Jaguars in a foreign country. I I don't understand it. There is a uh look, Syriani 's been a problem And apparently there's more sound.
Let me see. There's more sound here. Uh but again, where is Howie? Where are the team doctors? Where are the medical staff? Y'all know how Sirianni is on the mic. We saw that introductory press conference where he was a deer in the headlights.
Why would you send this man out here to try to take the f take the bullets for this? Reporter put that out. Hey coach, thanks for taking the time for us today. We're gonna start with Elliot Short Parks and then go. Hey Nick, uh there was a report that Jalen got pretty limited sleep the night before the game in London. I was wondering if you could Take us behind the decision between the limited sleep and being diagnosed with the blood clot the day before, um, why you felt it was safe he could play in that game. You know, again, um with all that, I think the that reporter put that out, uh came out with another report.
I know you guys saw that. Um So is he trying to say that the thirty six hours was bullshit? Let's see. Fabricated. Let's see. Because if he's trying to insinuate that, then where is the retraction? I'm not seeing anything Cause it's Tom Pelissero.
Tom Pelissero had that information. So is Tom Pelissero running it back? Let's see. Let's see. Is Pelissero Just spoke to Jalen Hurts agent who clarified that while Hurts was up until S Sunday morning getting evaluated out of hospital, he was able to sleep upon rejoining the team and the Eagles, and the Eagles set aside a room for him at the stadium. Videos from the stadium show Hurts coming onto the field just before kickoff and if he felt rested enough to play. Okay, so five hours after the fact.
He had to spin it back and clarify. Okay, so NFL media is running it back. This man works for The Ringer, does stuff for Netflix, and he's getting this information straight from the agent. Nicole and so he's running that back now whether he was asked to run that back just like y'all saw the thing with Mike Breen and LeBron. Right? Mike Breen went out there and had a story about how LeBron pressed embied uh for being late to practice or s something to that effect. And Mike Breen reported on it, didn't think it was that big of a deal to report on it.
And then Braun went out there and chastised The fact that Brain reported that saying that it wasn't true, and then Brain had to spin the block and say, hey, if LeBron says it didn't happen, it didn't happen, which to me isn't say is saying He it happened, but since LeBron is calling me out and saying it didn't happen, I'm just gonna let him cook and let it be that it didn't happen. So is this that To where Palasaro jumped out the window and said, you know, this man didn't sleep for 36 hours, only to come back five hours later and tell us, oh yeah, well, his agent is saying that he was able to sleep. A little bit. So what does that mean? That's a pretty vast, like, so what source was that? What source did Pelasaro get the 36 hours from Because if you're getting the 36 hours from some from a source, only for the agent to tell you five hours later, hey, Jalen was actually able to sleep. He needs to retract his story.
But it doesn't seem like he's retracting the story. He's just making like an amendment to the story. Who clarified that while Hurts was up until early Sunday morning getting evaluated at a hospital, He was able to sleep upon rejoining the team. And the Eagles set aside a room for him at the stadium. So it sounds like he did have to stay up all night And once he came back from the hospital, he maybe got in a power nap. That is not that different. So Ciriani 's trying to spin this like that whole thing was fabricated Where's that?
Where's that piece at? Uh come on, Seriani. Where are you? Where are you? Which tab is he? Which tab is he? Which tab is he?
I just had the tab. Ah, lost a tab. Okay. So Pelasaro Is out here saying, hey, 36 hours, five hours later, his agent Nicole Lynn says, eh, well, he was able to sleep a little bit. So early Sunday morning. So that means all day and all night Saturday. Sunday morning he was at the hospital getting evaluated and he was able to sleep upon rejoining the team.
So that's probably late. Late Sunday morning. So Sirianni is gonna ride on the hill of hey man. Let me see if we can pull that Sirianni sound back up. Standby. I see you in the chat. I'm gonna get to you in the chat in a second.
I just want to make sure we got the most accurate sound, the freshest sound. Because this is gonna be what this is gonna be one of those stories. Okay, so here's the sound again. Sirianni is trying to push back on the idea of the thirty-six hours. There was a report that Jalen um You know, again, um with all that, I think the that reporter put that out uh came out with another report. I know you guys saw that. Um You know, the the health of our players are is always at the forefront of our mind.
And um, you know, we leave that up to the medical experts, but you know, it's I'm all we always, always care deeply about our players and um you know that's that's When you were completely focused on together and connection, you're always thinking about the well-being of your guys, and that's where we were in that situation. We'll go to John and then Reuben Frank. Hey, Nick, just to sort of wrap that up, and I know you don't want to go backward, but You know, Jalen and the lack of rest, even though he's able to get some sleep at the stadium, it is a very mentally draining position. Um is is Did that affect the game planning in that game when it came to scaling things back? I think we've we've talked about that. You know, you go through the game plan the way you go through it every single week. Um you know, I know we got you know we Everything in that game plan was thought through the entire the entire week and then you know you're also thinking about the things uh that you know going into the game as well.
What is he saying? So You know, I don't think uh that had any effect on how we game planned or anything like that. It should have. We'll go to Rube and then Hey Nick, um understanding that your number one priority is care for the players, I was just wondering if there's anything you feel like you guys could have done differently or should have done differently during the whole Ordeal. You know, guys, I'm not a medical expert. I lean on our guys in all those situations. So where are the medical experts to talk to us?
Um I it's not here, not himself major care for our players, it's them as well. Um and so w we are all there uh and I'm glad to be part of an organization that cares about the guys the way our guys do. Just nonsense. Nonsensical. Where are the medical people? Nick, why was Jalen Hurts allowed to fly home despite the team knowing that he had a blood clot? Again, again, I'm not a medical expert.
Same deal there. We get medical information from our guys And that's the part we heard, let's say sometimes we put out a statement for you guys to hear, um put out multiple past the part I've already heard for you guys to hear. Um And so, and I and I told you guys that last week that I was gonna leave it at that of where you know where we were on that because we put out a detailed statement for you guys to hear and to understand. We'll go to Brooks and then Dave. Nick, I understand you're uh you're not the expert on the medical side. I'm just curious who was all a part of that conversation, people that you're listening to trust who? Is there any clarity you can give on that?
Yeah guys, I understand that you want uh this information on this. I fully trust the people that are involved in helping us make these decisions. They're they're leaving this man out here for dead. You know, I think I put it this way, the same doctors and trainers that the same doctors and trainers that help the number of twenty two starters be available in the in the Super Bowl are the same guys today that deeply care about our guys. to help them. Um, you know, we're and that's, you know, again, don't have much more to say about that. That's why we put the statement out and And also uh full trust in those guys and always, always, always the players' health is at the forefront of our mind.
And I don't know, I just yeah, I That again goes down to our connection and our and our team. Uh he's not saying nothing. There's nothing substantial we've gotten from this. I know I've I've got the relationship with the players that I have because um because of the time that we spend together and we have for he's just meandering at this point. So all right, he ain't saying shit. So Alright, so Sirianni didn't say anything. Um I yeah, it's a lot there.
Okay. Let me hit the chat because it sees we got some folk in the chat and I appreciate y'all contributing to the conversation in the chat If you have not hit the like button already on the stream, go ahead and do that. If you're not subscribed to the stream or to the channel, go ahead and do that. Let's see. Chris in the house. What's good, Chris? Unfortunately, they were trying to protect that money for the London game over his actual health.
Sad move. Then now they have to do damage control because the medical statements out. Yeah, like you can't run from the man's whole potential career being over. Like you can't run from that. Like The smoke and trying to protect yourself or absolve yourself from blame is really pathetic on the Eagles part here. And with Sirianni being put out there, it's like a leading a lamb to the slaughter. Like Sirianni's are daring the headlights.
Like we know this man is not good on the microphone. We know this man is not motivating and captivating in front of an audience. Maybe in a locker room, maybe But in terms of a dais a podium a platform in front of the media, he has never performed well So with having this type of story, with having the the legs that it has and the connection points that it has and the polarization that it has in terms of you put a player's life and career at jeopardy for your own selfish individualistic gain and then you put Sirianni out there? Sirianni. That's who you put out there to be the face? Where's Howie? Where's the owner?
Where's the medical staff? Where's the doctors? Where's the players union? Chris in the chat, hopefully Jalen can return back. It makes me think of the Chris Bosch or even Wemby clot situations. This could have been bad. Hopefully that wasn't his last time playing.
Yeah, like n none of this, none of this. He'll fully recover. But like you mentioned, Chris Bosch. Chris Bosch never played again. And even though Chris Bosch kept trying to, you know, force teams that Heat included and Houston, didn't he have the max contract with Houston and he had to renege on that? Like you can't play with somebody's health like that despite the player saying I'm fine, I'm good, trust me, trust me. That's when you depend on your doctors Like the Heat were ready to pay Chris Bosch.
They were ready to pay him the max bread to have him and Wade team back up after LeBron skated on them They were ready to re-up on Bosch, but the heart was a problem. The clots were a problem, the bletheners, the blood pressure, it was all a problem. And they ultimately just could not get the insurance to absolve them of that in case the inevitable happened. And Chris Bosch was not happy about it initially. And over the years he has softened it and he has come to realize like, yeah, they probably did the right thing in that. But it took him some a long time to get to that point. Appreciate you, Chris.
And speaking of that, I went and dug up some other players that have been in similar conditions to what we're looking at with Jalen Hurts. Let me pull up my notes here. Okay, where is it? Yeah, so we had Chris Bosch, who had recurring pulmonary embolisms starting in 2015. And the doctors determined that continuing to play on blood thinners was too risky. Then we had uh Jason Pinkston. He was forced the NFL player played for the Browns.
He was forced into early retirement in 2014. He had two VTEs. Now remember, I told you to remember that acroman, right? Then who else we had? That was a couple other players. Do do do do do scroll scroll. Okay, so a twenty seventeen review.
across NHL, MLB, NFL, and MBA. So this is going across from 1999 to 2016. During that time frame, we had 55 documented VTE events. The average diagnosis age was 29 The average time missed was seven months. Players with a pulmonary embolism specifically, not just a leg clot, missed the most time. averaging almost eleven months. Blood thinners themselves are the complication in the contact sport because they prevent normal clotting, which raises real bleeding risk from hits.
So this is documented. This is dangerous. This is impactful, not just short term, but long term. And the Eagles allow that man to fly over to London and had that man stay up for an inordinate amount of time, whether it was 36 hours or less. And still had that man quarterback a whole ass game with a blood clot. Only to find out a few days later that the blood clot had spread Nasty work. Nasty work.
Can't have Sirianni out there. Having Sirianni out there is is extremely dangerous, bro. Because again you can't say like look, the player had a confirmed blood clot. He got clear to fly to London and play a full game. Under the guise that activity and mobility were important. In terms of dealing with the blood clot, he needed to be active and mobile. Laying around, not doing nothing was not going to help this blood clot.
Hence why stay up for 36 hours or some variation of the sort. Nine days later, that same blood clot has now moved and spread to include both lungs. I want all the energy in the world. Not just for Frauday who's insinuating that you know this whole thing might have been vaccine related All the smoke in the world should be for him. All the smoke in the world should be Michael Robinson, who tried to insinuate that Jalen Hurts was faking an injury or using this injury to absolve himself from the ailes of the Eagles. Do not let Sirianni off the hook. Do not let Loria in that group off the hook.
Do not let Howie off the hook. Do not let you know Sirianni and them off the hook. The medical staff, the team doctors, do not let any of them off the hook. Because this was a player's life at risk. Jalen Hurts ain't no doctor. Jalen Hurts ain't no pulmonologist. Boy If this was a real union, if this was the baseball union, woo!
The smoke, the smoke. If this was the baseball players union, there would be a statement. There would have been a press conference. They would have like, they would have pulled up like, hmm. But it's the NFL, the world's the country's most popular sport. Once again, Godell and them just get to skate. They just continuously get to skate.
What else we got? I think that's all we got. I don't see anything new. Uh Davante Adams is out for six to ten weeks. Uh da da da da Yeah, I'm not hearing anything, I'm not seeing anything else that is worthwhile. I think we'll let it go there. Okay, yeah, we will wrap it up off of that.
Okay. So I think there is a lot going on here. I see when the chat was good. I think there is a lot going on here. I think the NFL needs to be spoken. I think the NFL Needs to be taken to task. I think the NFLPA, if they had any balls, should say something.
Say something. Say put out a statement, a press release. Have they released? I checked earlier in the stream. They put out nothing. Their last tweet was from like a while ago. Let's see Okay, so uh apparently stuff is happening.
Breaking the NFL has launched an investigation into the Eagles handling of Jalen Hurts after he was allowed to play and fly with a blood clot The NFLPA is pushing for a severe punishment with Philadelphia potentially facing the loss of multiple draft picks. I don't know if this is a real person. This is Wesley Steinberg. NFL and New York Giants insider. I've never heard of this person. So let's go back. Josina Anderson, who is a s who is a legitimate source.
Text from a league source, quote, why isn't anyone talking about how quiet the NFLPA is on Hurts? End quote. That to me is the most damning thing. And I want y'all to take that into account because I'm sitting here asking that same question. And this is someone within the actual league themselves asking of Josina Anderson who is tied in and tapped in the same thing. Where is the NFLPA on this? And I know it's easy to take the fan perspective and just be sad for Jalen Hurts, and we're sad for Jalen Hurts.
No one wants Jalen Hurts to be hurt. No one wants. Jalen Hurt's career to be over or even his season to be over, this is all unfortunate. However, put that to the side. Now it's okay, who are the people that were in charge of this and who are the people that are supposed to protect the best interest of Jalen Hurts? And that is specifically And innately the NFL Players Association because Jalen Hurts pays Jungin dues. And those Junin dues go to the NFL PA for them to protect him And they have yet to put out a statement, put out anything to show that Jalen Hurts is getting the most bang for his buck of the Yungi dudes he has paid out.
